Course Description
Overview:
In Adobe® InDesign® CC: Part 1 you were introduced to the many features that help you create professional looking documents. Now you need to create much lengthier interactive documents that need to be accessed across a range of devices. In Adobe® InDesign® CC: Part 2, you will learn advanced InDesign techniques to enhance the look and functionality of your documents.
Using Adobe InDesign, you can create interactive documents and export them for viewing in a web browser with various features such as buttons, page transitions, movies and audio files, hyperlinks, and animation. You have the ability to assign color profiles and establish print presets. In creating longer documents, you’ll be able to include such features as a table of contents, footnotes, cross-references, and an index.
This course covers the Print & Digital Media Publication Using Adobe InDesign CC objectives to help students prepare for the Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) exam. This course is also designed to cover the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) exam objectives.
Course Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to use Adobe InDesign CC to create and deliver professional looking printed and interactive documents.

- Manage advanced page layouts.
- Manage styles.
- Build complex paths.
- Manage external files and create dynamic documents.
- Manage long documents.
- Publish InDesign files for other formats and customize print settings.
Target Student:
This course is intended for students who want to expand their entry-level knowledge of Adobe InDesign by using advanced features and collaboration tools.
Prerequisites:
To ensure your success, you will need to take the following Logical Operations course:
- Adobe® InDesign® CC: Part 1
Course-specific Technical Requirements
Hardware
For this course, you will need one computer for each student and one for the instructor. Each computer will need the following minimum hardware configurations:
- Intel® Pentium® 4, Intel Centrino®, Intel Xeon®, or Intel Core™ Duo (or compatible) processor
- 4 gigabyte (GB) RAM
- Graphics card with 512 MB video RAM
- 2.5 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash storage devices)
- 1024 × 768 resolution monitor (1,280 × 800 recommended)
- Internet connection and registration necessary for required software activation, membership validation, and access to online services
- Keyboard and mouse (or other pointing device)
- Projection system to display the instructor’s computer screen
Software
- Microsoft® Windows® 7 or 8/8.1 (32-bit or 64-bit)
- Internet connection required
- Adobe® InDesign® CC
- Adobe® Photoshop® CC (necessary for Creating Clipping Paths activity)
- Adobe® Reader® XI
- Adobe® Digital Editions
- If necessary, software for viewing the course slides (instructor machine only)
