Course Overview
The 28 contact hour course prepares participants to take the IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) examination. The CBAP® certification is authorized and maintained by the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA). “The Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) designation is a professional certification for individuals with extensive business analysis experience. With at least 7500 hours of hands-on BA experience, CBAP® recipients are the elite, senior members of the BA community.
IIBA® is an independent, non-profit professional association serving the growing field of business analysis. The IIBA mission includes the development and maintenance of standards for the practice of business analysis and for the certification and recognition of its practitioners. IIBA is the first organization to offer the formal certification for business analysis professionals.”

For training purposes, the class topics are organized in ease of learning order rather than BABOK® chapter order. For example, BABOK® chapter 11, Techniques, is class topic 4. The BABOK® Knowledge Area chapters 2 – 7 are class topics 5 – 10.

Business analysis framework is made up of a number of basic concepts with which you should be familiar. Even if you have solid experience in business analysis you should make certain you understand the basics.
- Underlying Competencies
Underlying Competencies chapter introduces the underlying competencies within logical groups. Each competency, its importance, and the measurements used to establish success are detailed.
- Techniques
Techniques chapter introduces the techniques used to improve business analysis success. The chapter explains the purpose of each technique and presents a detailed description of the technique, a discussion of the elements that contribute to the technique, and the advantages and disadvantages of using the technique.
